A private Retiro tour where you choose the length rather than the operator. One hour covers the monuments; ninety minutes adds the quieter gardens; two hours covers the park properly, including the corners most group tours never reach.

The machines are Segway X2s — the all-terrain model, with wider tyres than the city version. Inside Retiro that mostly means the unpaved garden paths ride better, which is where the extra time is spent on the longer options.
