1-Hour Segway Tour with Chocolate and Churros

4.8 (67 verified reviews)

About This Experience

One hour of riding and one stop for chocolate con churros, which is the correct ratio for a first afternoon in Madrid. The route runs Plaza Mayor, Plaza de la Villa, Plaza de Oriente, the Almudena Cathedral, the Royal Palace, the Sabatini Gardens and the Teatro Real.

Chocolate con churros in Madrid is a drink rather than a dessert — thick enough to stand a churro in, served for breakfast or after a night out as often as in the afternoon. The stop is near the Mercado de San Miguel, the cast-iron market hall of 1916 that still stands beside Plaza Mayor.

The food is included in the price, which is what separates this from a standard one-hour centre tour at roughly the same length. Guiding is bilingual Spanish and English, with other languages on request.

Our guide Andrea was excellent!! She was great with our 9 year old daughter as she helped her feel comfortable. She held. Her handle bars until she felt safe on her own. Highly recommend!!!

Superbe expérience ! Très rapide de prendre en mains le Segway avec des explications claires de la guide. C’est une façon originale de découvrir Madrid :)

Thanks to David, who was a very good instructor and guide. The Segway is very easy to handle, our 10 year old daughter got used to it in just a few minutes. 1 hour visit a bit short to really enjoy. Excellent friendly moment around a hot chocolate and churros, too bad it was at the end of the visit after returning the Segways, and without the presence of the guide who said goodbye to us before we were even served. I recommend 100%

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the chocolate and churros included in the price?

Yes — it is listed as an inclusion, not an optional extra, and it is the reason this tour prices above a plain one-hour centre route.

Where does the food stop happen?

Near the Mercado de San Miguel, on the Plaza Mayor side of the old centre.

How much riding is there?

About an hour, covering Plaza Mayor, Plaza de la Villa, Plaza de Oriente, the Almudena, the Royal Palace, the Sabatini Gardens and the Teatro Real. The operator notes the stated duration is approximate.

Is it suitable for a first Segway ride?

Yes — an hour is the gentlest introduction, and the route is flat. Riders who want an easier surface still should choose a Retiro park tour instead of a centre one.
