"The guide Andrei was awesome, perfect guide. It was a very nice activity. We drove segway on the main road and reached Retiro park and went arround the park for 1 hour. Overall great activity and could not have covered the park by foot as much as we covered on segway. I recommend this to anyone who wants to see all parts of Retiro park."

How a Combined Route Runs
Centre first, park second, or the reverse — the operator decides on the day.
Choose Your Length
One hour covers the centre alone. Two hours adds the park. Three hours rides both properly, with the Paseo del Prado between them.
Start in the Old City
Plaza Mayor, Plaza de Ramales, the Royal Palace, the Almudena Cathedral and Plaza de la Villa — the streets that were Madrid before the boulevards.
Cross to the Park
The route runs down the Paseo del Prado, the avenue listed by UNESCO in 2021 alongside Retiro, then enters the park through its western gates.
Finish on the Easy Ground
The park half is where the traffic stops. Palacio de Cristal, the lake and the gardens, at a pace the guide sets rather than the road.

Combined Routes
Three Madrid Segway Tours That Ride the Park and the City
Only three of the city's seventeen routes cover both — and they work very differently.
Most Madrid Segway tours pick a side. Five ride Retiro, six ride the historic centre, and the rest go to the river or Casa de Campo. Only three cover both the park and the old city on one booking — and if you have a single afternoon in Madrid, those three are the efficient answer.
Why the two halves are worth pairing
They are not variations on a theme. The historic centre is the Habsburg street grid: narrow, cobbled, dense with monuments, and — because Madrid’s mobility by-law bars personal mobility vehicles from pavements — ridden in bike lanes and 30 km/h streets alongside traffic.
Retiro is the opposite. Wide, level, largely car-free, laid out as royal pleasure grounds in the 17th century and opened fully to the public only after 1868. Riding straight from one into the other is the clearest way to feel how Madrid is actually built.
There is a heritage argument for the pairing too. In July 2021 UNESCO inscribed the Paseo del Prado and the Buen Retiro gardens together as the Landscape of Light, the first World Heritage site within the city. The combined routes ride most of its length, because the Prado avenue is the natural corridor between the palace quarter and the park.
The three routes
Private Segway tour: Retiro Park and Centro Histórico — $40, 1 to 3 hours. This is the one the page is built around, and the one operators sell as the combination. It runs privately by default, so the price is for your own group with its own guide. You pick the length; departures run hourly from 10:00 to 20:00. The one-hour option is centre-only, so book two or three hours if you want the park. 4.8/5 from 717 reviews.
All Madrid Guided Segway Tour — $52, 3 hours. The longest scheduled group route in Madrid, and the widest. Barrio de las Letras, the CaixaForum, Retiro Park, the Paseo del Prado, Plaza Mayor, the Almudena, the Royal Palace and the Templo de Debod, in that order. Three hours is a real commitment on a Segway, so this is not the tour to learn on.
Retiro Park Segway Tour, 2 hours — $36, 2 hours. Sold as a park tour, but it starts at Plaza de Ópera and rides the Barrio de las Letras in both directions, so you get the literary quarter where Cervantes and Lope de Vega lived as well as the park. The cheapest way to see both, if a lighter dose of the centre is enough.
How long you actually need
One hour does not cover both halves. Two is the minimum that does, and it will feel brisk in the centre. Three is the length at which neither half is rushed, and it is the only option that includes the Templo de Debod as well as the park.
The trade-off is physical rather than financial: standing on a Segway for three hours is tiring in a way an hour is not. If this is your first ride, the honest recommendation is a one-hour Retiro loop today and a combined route tomorrow. The duration comparison sets out what each length buys.
Booking notes worth knowing
Light rain does not cancel these tours; heavy rain reschedules them. Madrid City Council occasionally closes Retiro at short notice in high wind, and the operators respond by riding an alternative route rather than cancelling. Free cancellation up to 24 hours before applies either way.
The minimum age on the private combined route is ten, riders aged 10 to 17 must be accompanied, and the weight window is 35 to 120 kg. Full limits for every operator are on the family page; the whole field is ranked on the best tours page. Or check availability straight away — nothing is charged today.

Retiro + Downtown Segway Tour FAQs
The three routes that cover both halves of Madrid, and how long you need.
Three. The private Retiro Park and Centro Histórico tour ($40, one to three hours), the All Madrid Guided Segway Tour ($52, three hours) and the two-hour Retiro Park Segway Tour ($36), which rides the Barrio de las Letras in both directions on its way to the park.
Two hours is the minimum, and it will feel brisk in the centre. Three hours is the length at which neither half is rushed, and the only one that also includes the Templo de Debod. One hour covers the centre only. See the duration comparison.
Yes — it runs privately by default, so the price covers your own group with its own guide. It is the only Madrid Segway tour sold as a private ride across both the park and the historic centre, with hourly departures from 10:00 to 20:00.
The combined routes use the Paseo del Prado as the corridor between the palace quarter and the park. In July 2021 UNESCO inscribed that avenue and the Buen Retiro gardens together as the Landscape of Light — the first World Heritage site within the city of Madrid.
The two-hour Retiro Park Segway Tour at $36. It is sold as a park tour but starts at Plaza de Ópera and rides the literary quarter in each direction, so you get a lighter dose of the centre on the way.
It is the longest route in Madrid and it is a real commitment. You are upright and lightly braced the whole time, and the last half hour is where beginners start making mistakes. Ride a one-hour Retiro loop first if you have never used a Segway.
Minimum age ten on all three, with riders aged 10 to 17 accompanied by an adult. The private combined route requires a weight between 35 kg and 120 kg. None is suitable during pregnancy. The family page compares every operator.
Madrid City Council occasionally shuts the park at short notice in high wind. The operators ride an alternative route rather than cancelling, and free cancellation up to 24 hours before applies regardless.
Light rain does not. SEGCITYTOURS states it will not suspend for fine rain and reschedules in heavy rain. Free cancellation up to 24 hours before means a poor forecast the day before costs you nothing.
It varies by operator and by the day. The private route generally starts in the old city at Plaza Mayor and finishes in the park; the All Madrid route starts in the Barrio de las Letras, takes Retiro early and ends at the Templo de Debod.
